Our school was one of 300 schools who participated in the National STEM in schools event. 7 students from year 5 volunteered to give up their lunch time to hang out with Melissa from the CSIRO _ A REAL scientist. Later they took her into the radio room and asked all kinds of questions to find out what the CSIRO does and whole interesting and varied STEM job Melssia does. This is a very special podcast featuring the musical creations using Soundtrap by students in Years 5 and 6. Your host is the music teacher Mr Drysdale. The music was created for National Science Week and the theme was Space, celebrating 50 years since the moon landing. It was originally broadcast over the PA at our STEAM family night. we hear our new team giving themselves some groovy handles as they introduce themselves. Sienna, Jessica, and Elira. Harry produced the show with Hudson as his apprentice. Today 4 students from the 12 student delegation from our new sister school in Nanjing China dropped into Mrs B's STEM: Digital Technologies' lesson. She invited them into the radio room for an impromptu interview. Hao a PLPS student, acting as their translator, conducted the interview. On this week show we are honoured to have Dr Napthine the Premier of Victoria stop by to be interviewed by Anneleisa, Lucy and Spencer. Dr Napthine told us that he likes to take his tie off, relax and watch the footy. It was a great interview and our school was very honoured that he chose our school to visit. Today's show is hosted by Annelise and Nayok. The show includes the regular house competition, the 'Hot Seat' and the new Nosey Bear Crew is announced. The Hot Seat competition is hotting up as the end of the school year approaches. Who will be the house with the most points? Listen and find out. Bailey Yr5 and Spencer Yr4 host todays show with all the regular news and competitions. This show contains the special interview with Jeanette Powell MP conducted by our radio captains, Jasmin and Anneleisa and junior radio crew member Emma yr 3. Our Desk Jockey was Lucy Yr 5 and Bridie Yr6 was on the end of the video camera this time helping Nosey Bear out with some footage for his show. Pictured are the students, Mr Szuty principal, Jeneatte Powell MP and Doner Bauer our local State MP in the radio room.
This is a student run and managed radio station. The 2017 crew consist of a several dedicated children in years 3 and 4. The crew is open to any student from 3-6. New members are welcome. Students meet each Monday to choose and allocate the tasks. Script writing takes place on Tuesdays. (Wednesdays if necessary), rehearsal for all DJs and console happens on Thursdays. These all take place in the student's own time. The live show broadcasts via the school PA system and with 1/2 km around the school on FM 104.7. This occurs while students eat their lunch in their classrooms each Friday. The show is them podcast for everyone to enjoy and share with anyone around the world. The students are very proud of what they do. Mrs B is CEO!
This is our School podcast site for PLPS radio and some of our TV. We hope to have many shows showcasing interesting things at Patto. These shows are produced by primary aged school children.
